This website, hbcuchallenge.org, is operated by the HBCU Oratorical Challenge ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We collect only the information you choose to give us through the forms on this site:
Waitlist signups — your name, email address, track interest, role, institution (optional), and how you heard about us (optional).
Inquiries — partnership, sponsorship, nomination, competition registration, and contact forms collect your name, email, and the details you include in your message.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell any information. This site uses no analytics cookies; third-party resources used to display the site (such as font and script libraries) are loaded from content-delivery networks, which may receive standard technical request data (like your IP address) as part of serving those files.
We use waitlist information to confirm your signup (a double opt-in email), to notify you when program enrollment opens, and to send occasional program updates you've consented to receive. We use inquiry information solely to respond to your message. We never sell or rent your information, and we share it only with the service providers necessary to operate this site and send email.
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time. You may also ask us to view, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@hbcuchallenge.org — we'll act on your request promptly.
Form submissions are stored securely on our web server with access restricted to program administrators. We retain waitlist and inquiry information only as long as needed to run the program and respond to you, after which it is deleted.
This site is intended for college students, adults, and institutions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
